Dr. Kevin Draper was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. He spent two years in the Navy on active duty–in Vietnam and on the USS Enterprise. Dr. Draper had always been interested in healthcare, and when he returned from Vietnam, he was accepted at Georgetown University and received his DDS in 1980.
After graduation, Dr. Draper moved to California and worked in dental practices in Fremont and Modesto. He became skilled at performing a wide range of dental procedures, including crowns, bridges, veneers and root canals. He knew, however, that he wanted his own practice, and he had a vision for the kind of practice this would be.
He knew that many patients developed an irrational fear of dentistry. He wanted to create an environment where patients would feel confident they would have a pain-free dental experience, that they’d be treated in a clean, safe environment with professionalism, courtesy and a gentle touch. A friendly office, where every member of his team was committed to a high level of care. When an existing practice in San Ramon became available, Dr. Draper knew this opportunity fit both his career and personal goals. It’s in this community that Dr. Draper and his family have lived and worked since 1984.
People ask us what Draper Family Dentists means. “While we love being a patient’s dentist for life, we’re proud to be a family practice—father and son. What this means for our patients: we work closely together, consulting, collaborating and learning from each other to provide the very best care for our patients.”
Dr. Draper is a member of a number of professional dental organizations, including the ICOI Implant Study Club, American Dental Association, California Dental Association and Contra Costa Dental Society. Dr. Draper enjoys golfing, fishing, skiing and traveling. He’s an active member of his community and church, and he and his high school sweetheart, Susan, enjoy their five children and grandchildren.
